Important to Know

  • ·The Double Decker Root Bridge trek involves ~3,500 steep stone steps down and back; wear sturdy shoes and carry water; not suitable for guests with knee or mobility issues.
  • ·Cherrapunji receives heavy rainfall June–September; trails to the root bridge can be slippery — October to April is the recommended window for the trek.
  • ·The Mawlynnong–Dawki day (Day 5) is long; an early 6:00–6:30 AM start is essential.
  • ·Best time to visit: October to May for clear skies and safe trekking; June–September for dramatic waterfall volumes.
