Sal forests, one-horned rhinos, and the smell of elephant grass at dawn. This is the Dooars — India's most underrated wildlife corridor.
- ·Pick up from Bagdogra Airport or NJP Railway Station (~68 km, ~2 hrs)
- ·Check in to your nature lodge on the edge of Gorumara National Park
- ·Evening walk along the Murti River to watch for birds and elephants at the treeline
- ·Briefing on safari schedules and park regulations over dinner
- ·Pre-dawn jeep safari into Gorumara National Park — prime time for one-horned rhinos, elephants, gaur, and spotted deer
- ·Chukchuki Watchtower — a legendary birding point for Indian hornbills and scarlet minivet
- ·Afternoon drive to Samsing and Suntalekhola through tea estates and sub-Himalayan forests
- ·Stop at Jhalong and Bindu — the Torsha river, Bhutan border hills, and migratory waterfowl at Bindu Dam
- ·Return to Lataguri for dinner and overnight
- ·Drive east toward Jaldapara (~80 km, ~1.5 hrs) via the Chilapata Forest corridor

- ·Collect jeep safari permits from the Nature Interpretation Centre, Madarihat

Important to Know
- ·Dooars forests are closed from approximately mid-June to mid-September (exact dates vary) — this package is not available during the monsoon closure period.
- ·Elephant safari slots at Jaldapara are limited and allocated first-come-first-served at the forest counter — early arrival on Day 3 is strongly recommended.
- ·Jeep safari permits for Gorumara can be booked online via wbsfda.org in advance — advance booking is advised October through March.
- ·Jaldapara National Park is closed on Thursdays.
- ·Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed — responsible safari guidelines apply at all times.
